IBAS sometimes receives complaints from customers who have been denied particular bonuses or promotional benefits that have been advertised by a betting operator. Typically, the betting operator will argue that the customer in question is, for one reason or another, excluded from participating in that particular offer.
The IBAS Panel consider each case on its individual merits, but in most cases their final decision rests on whether the customer has been informed, in a reasonable and tangible medium, that he or she will not be permitted to participate in or receive the benefits from a particular offer or promotion.
Except in circumstances where some serious breach of an operator’s rules has occurred, the Panel would expect a customer to be notified that he or she was not permitted to benefit from a particular offer before that offer was launched or before any potentially qualifying bets were struck.
