ADVICE FOR GENESIS GLOBAL'S UK CUSTOMERS

**PLEASE NOTE THAT GENESIS GLOBAL'S LICENCE SUSPENSION HAS SINCE ENDED - THE COMPANY CURRENTLY HOLDS AN ACTIVE REMOVE GAMBLING LICENCE**

On 20th July 2020 the Gambling Commission stated that Genesis Global Limited had breached a condition of their licence (section 116(2)(a) of the Act)) and that accordingly it was unsuitable for them to carry on the licensed activities (section 116(2)(c)(i)) of the Act). As a result the regulator felt it would be appropriate to suspend their licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.

In its statement, the Gambling Commission explained:

  • It is currently illegal for Genesis Global Limited to offer gambling services via the following websites in Great Britain:
  • The Gambling Commission have instructed the operator to facilitate customers accessing their accounts to withdraw funds and advise customers not to place any bets through the above websites.

If you are a customer of any of these sites and you have questions concerning the status of your account the current Gambling Commission advice is that you contact the company through the website you've used.

We appreciate that consumers will have understandable concerns about what this means either for account balances, active bonuses and pending withdrawal requests. We recognise that additional disputes will arise as a result of these developments.

Contacting IBAS immediately does not increase the priority of a withdrawal request and we would urge consumers – as always – to try to resolve any concerns or complaints with the company before contacting us. If you have a complaint about a specific transaction; a withdrawal request, inaccessible balance or the status of an active bonus and you are unable to obtain a satisfactory response from the company, you can lodge a claim through the IBAS website by registering and completing a claim form or emailing adjudication@ibas-uk.co.uk

We will do our best to progress any requests for Alternative Dispute Resolution that we receive. However, because of the Gambling Commission's investigation, we can't guarantee that disputes concerning these websites will be concluded within the normal timeframes. We will be seeking further information and advice from the Gambling Commission. If your contact relates to a non transaction-specific issue, such as the licensing or investigation process, you should e-mail the Gambling Commission: info@gamblingcommission.gov.uk

With limited further information available to us while the Gambling Commission’s review takes place, the best advice IBAS can provide is to visit the Gambling Commission or Genesis Global Limited websites for the latest messaging and advice for existing customers and their accounts.
